Historic Downtown Pekin was packed with festival-goers as Pekin Main Street's Friday Night Family Fest kicked off the Marigold Festival weekend.     The 2022 Marigold Festival Parade Line-Up is posted below.  We are looking forward to this 50 Th celebration! Parade participants must start lining up beginning at 8am and be in their place no later than 9:30am .  Look for the bright orange shirts to locate your line-up area when you get to that general area (see map) REMINDERS: All entries must be pre-registered with the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce including payment and a detailed description of the entry for the parade announcer.  The Parade Committee expressly reserves the right to restrict, limit or reject any entry that is considered potentially disruptive, offensive, or in poor taste and not in keeping with the tradition of the Marigold Festival or does not abide by the rules and regulations.     50 th Pekin Marigold Festival Will Be Held This Fall, September 8 th – 11 th   Pekin Marigold Festival announces theme of 2022 Festival: “Back in Time: 50 Years of Marigold Memories.”   Pekin, IL - On September 8 th – 11 th the Pekin Marigold Festival will celebrate its 50 th year honoring Senator Everett Dirksen. This year’s theme, “Back In Time”, will reflect on how the Pekin Marigold Festival has become a cherished tradition in the Central Illinois region. Beloved by his hometown, Pekin hosted the first festival in 1973 as a celebration of the late Senator’s legislative legacy. The Pekin Marigold Festival was named after Senator Dirksen’s love for marigolds, and to this day Pekin is recognized as the Marigold Capital of the World.
