2020 Pepsi Marigold Medallion Clue #1 Released Monday, August 31

 Here we go!!  Clue #1 to be released on Monday, August 31 at Noon!  The official disclaimer for the 2020 Pepsi Marigold Medallion Hunt –   Changes have been made due to the unintended destruction of property in recent years.    Please be attentive and protective of all property.   The Pepsi Marigold Medallion WILL be found on PUBLIC property—either within or contiguous to city boundaries, or property owned by a Pekin public body.  It is NOT hidden in any seasonal plantings or landscaping in Mineral Springs Park or elsewhere, on any golf course, inside the PCHS stadium’s fenced area, inside the Dragonland fenced area, inside any school facility, or on the property of the Pekin Archery Range or the UAW High rise.  While it might be hidden on school property, it will not be hidden in shrubs, bushes, or plantings immediately against the schools. The Medallion is NOT hidden within the landscaping at the Pekin Public Library or in close proximity to the Pekin Federal Prison's perimeter

Marigold Festival Names Mary Haynes the 2020 Grand Marshal

The Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce Marigold Festival Committee is pleased to announce Mary Haynes as the 2020 Marigold Festival Grand Marshal.  One nominee states that she sees Mary as “a real go-getter who loves her community.”  She further applauds Mary’s unwavering support of the business community in Pekin.  Another nominee states “she is a positive person that tirelessly promotes Pekin businesses.” Mary is a retired nurse working at both Pekin Hospital and Schramm School.  She currently owns Kountry Nook and Craft Mall located in downtown Pekin. Mary’s customers find her welcoming and friendly as they enjoy her shop.  Mary also runs the Small Biz Pekin Facebook page and has nearly 1500 followers on that page. Mary diligently promotes Pekin businesses on her page.   Mary serves on the Pekin Main Street Committee and has promoted Fourth Fridays in Pekin events.  The Marigold Festival Committee is proud to extend this honor to Mary Haynes.   This annual honor is presented
