2020 Pepsi Marigold Medallion Clue #1 Released Monday, August 31

 Here we go!!  Clue #1 to be released on Monday, August 31 at Noon! 

The official disclaimer for the 2020 Pepsi Marigold Medallion Hunt – Changes have been made due to the unintended destruction of property in recent years.  Please be attentive and protective of all property.

 
The Pepsi Marigold Medallion WILL be found on PUBLIC property—either within or contiguous to city boundaries, or property owned by a Pekin public body. 

It is NOT hidden in any seasonal plantings or landscaping in Mineral Springs Park or elsewhere, on any golf course, inside the PCHS stadium’s fenced area, inside the Dragonland fenced area, inside any school facility, or on the property of the Pekin Archery Range or the UAW High rise.  While it might be hidden on school property, it will not be hidden in shrubs, bushes, or plantings immediately against the schools. The Medallion is NOT hidden within the landscaping at the Pekin Public Library or in close proximity to the Pekin Federal Prison's perimeter fence. 

Hunters do not need to dig up or climb up to find the Medallion. It may be carefully camouflaged or hidden within something easily accessible and not requiring disassembly. The chosen hiding place is always selected with safety and accessibility given the highest consideration. 

Finally, be on the watch for Poison Ivy and Poison Oak, and PLEASE, be respectful of others' property as well as your fellow hunters.

2022 Pekin Marigold Festival Art in the Park Vendor Registration is Now Open!

 2022 Pekin Marigold Festival Art in the Park Vendor Registration is Now Open! Pekin, IL-   Registrations for Art in the Park have begun! If you are a local art or craft vendor looking for an opportunity to show and sell your work, the Pekin Marigold Festival invites you to register today.  2022 marks the 50th year of the festival. This annual event attracts over 15,000 people to Mineral Springs Park during the second weekend of September! Art in the Park is a unique event in that it showcases vendors who exclusively create  their items. All items have a "hand-crafted" element.  Each year the Festival Committee also releases a souvenir booklet for the festival, with distribution in the thousands. Jim Fairchild truly represents the best of our community. In-line with this year’s theme of “Back in Time: 50 Years of Marigold Memories”, Jim has been a beloved member of the Pekin community who has touched the lives of hundreds of young people here.   Jim and his wife Patty have been married for 47 years and have four children and eight grandchildren.
